Bullish sentiments dominated on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Friday and the equities stayed in positive zone amid ascending transaction volume on account of fresh entries made by investors in select scrips. The LSE-25 index gained 40.41 points and was ended at 4067.33 against 4026.92 of Thursday while trading turnover was improved to 4.690 million shares as compared to last day volume of 3.875 million shares.

The market was opened on a positive sign and moved in green zone throughout the day, as investors stayed on buying course to pick shares of their choice. As a result, Engro Foods, Byco Petroleum, Attock Refinery, Askari Bank, Bank of Punjab, NIB Bank, Bank Alfalah, PIAC, Fecto Cement, Fauji Cement, KESC, Adamjee Insurance and Wateen Telecom registered gains. However, due to profit taking, Fauji Fertiliser, Engro Corporation, Fatima Fertiliser, D.G. Khan Cement, Flying Cement, PTCK, Nishat Chunian, Engro Polymer and Chemical, and Soneri Bank remained under pressure.

The gainers were more than the losers, as out of a total of 95 active issues, 23 posted gains, 17 went down, while 55 companies stayed glued to their previous closing. Engro Corporation gained Rs 2.30, Sui Northern was improved by Rs 1.00, Byco Petroleum was appreciated by 77-paisa while Askari Bank and PIAC were up by 69-paisa and 62-paisa, respectively. Fauji Fertiliser lost 95-paisa, Engro Corporation was declined by 71-paisa while D.G. Khan Cement and Fauji Fertiliser were down by 34-paisa and 16-paisa, respectively. Byco Petroleum was the market leader whose 1.125 million shares changed hands followed by NIB Bank with 684,000 shares.
